ApacheCon '06 : Lightening Talks : Why Apache is like Irish Traditional music
Paul Fremantle had the following to say regarding Apache (the webserver) and Irish Music (the diddly-diddly stuff that's not a webserver, for the confused among you) and why they are alike:
- The tunes are like the source code. You can use it any way you like.
- You're allowed to make money from the tunes.
- They have hackathons - they're just called sessions.
- Just like an Apache Hackathon, it's much better with alcohol.
- Just like Ken, some people need a lot of equipment.
- There are a lot of egos...
- ...but the diversity makes it a lot of fun.
Finally, I encourage you to find a pub with a hackathon going on...
